Ramsey House Hosts “Skirmish on the Holston”

Skirmish on the Holston at Historic Ramsey House

History comes to life 150 years after the Great Conflict between the States at the Historic Ramsey House.  A Civil War Living History and Reenactment weekend presented by the Civil War Re-enactors of East Tennessee.  Recreation of the Skirmish on the Holston which occurred on Feb. 20th 1864 will be held at 2:00 pm each day by Civil War re-enactors.  Visitors may stroll the grounds through Union and Confederate encampments experiencing the life of a soldier of that era. Tom and Sue Wright as Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd will perform their “Life of Lincoln” at various times during the weekend. General Lee, his horse Traveler, and Mrs. Lee will be in attendance throughout the weekend. A Ladies Tea and Fashion show presented by the Union of the Confederate Daughters. There will be Civil War period games and activities for children, Civil War period music and a display of the medical practices of the era.  Tours of the Ramsey House will be available for a $3.00 person. Food for purchase available from vendors.

Time:  10:00 am to 5:00 pm both days

Admission: $5.00 for Adults; $3:00 for Children 12 to 7; 6 and under free.  (Mother’s of all ages Free on Sunday for Mother’s Day)
