Naomi Hillman Roop, 79 of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. She was raised in Dungannon, VA and then moved to Bristol, VA, where she received her business degree from Bristol Business College.

On December 2, 1966, she married the love of her life, Lewis F. Roop, and they shared 59 and a half happy years together. Naomi was a Sunday School teacher and faithful member of Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church for 54 years. She enjoyed tending her flowers and taking drives through the country.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Henderson Hillman and Clarice Ruth Horne Hillman; and beloved granddaughter, Emmallen Grace Hall.

Survivors include her husband of 59 ½ years, Lewis F. Roop; daughters, April Roop Hurd and Jennifer Lynn Hensley (Johnny); grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Hurd and Breanna Ashlynn Hall; great-grandchildren, Carter Harrell and Beckett Harrell; siblings, Lynetta Wilson and Martha Cole; beloved brother and sister-in-law, Wilkie and Phyllis Roop; several nieces and nephews; and loving friends of the family, Graylan Harrell, Jeffrey Overbay, and Garnie Snavely.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lynn Garden Evangelical Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Mark Ball officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the VA at 10:45 a.m.
