Esther Evans

“Louise”

Evans

Esther “Louise” Evans, age 91, of Jefferson City, was born on July 14, 1934, in Bluford, IL, to the late Robert and Goldie McKiness. She passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, and instantly was with her Lord and Savior. She was a member of New Market Baptist Church. Unfortunately, due to declining health, she was unable to attend in person for the last few years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Evans, of 55 years, and her infant daughter, Linda. She is also preceded in death by all her brothers, several sisters-in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Patti (David) Albright, and son Daniel “Danny” Evans; her grandchildren, Diana (Frank) Herndon, Davy (Jessica) Albright, Melanie (Rich) Wurster, and Courtney Evans; great-grandchildren, Jasmine Herndon, Tanner Herndon, Wayne Herndon, Dayne Albright, Aiden Wurster, and Isabella Wurster; a special chosen grandchild, Erin Moock.

Louise was a great cook. It brought her great joy to have gatherings with family and friends where she would prepare meals. Family would often request certain food items, which she would gladly make. She always felt a meal needed meat, bread, vegetables, and, of course, dessert.

She had a love for sewing and sewed for many people, even making square dance dresses. She sewed most of her own clothes over the years. Louise also sewed clothes for her daughter and granddaughters.

She also loved tending her flowers and plants. She knew a lot about them and took great pride in caring for them. She enjoyed sitting on her glider outside, looking at her flowers and plants.

She had a great love for her family and an even greater love for her Lord and Savior. Lousie was saved at the age of 14. She wanted everyone in her family to know Christ and develop a personal relationship with Him. She read her Bible often and would have scripture posted throughout her house. When she became unable to attend church, she would watch sermons on television.

A special thank you to the girls of Jefferson Park at White Pine Nursing Home, who took excellent care of her for the past year, and Smoky Mountain Hospice (Nurse-Kaylie and CNAAshley), who cared for her for the past year and a half and did an excellent job.
