Roger Craig Schaffner, age 45 of Sevierville, passed from this life on the morning of Sunday, May 24, 2026, following a brief illness.
Roger was a devoted husband, proud father, a loving son, brother, & friend/. A proud veteran, Roger served honorably in the United States Coast Guard; and carried that same sense of dedication and service throughout his life.
Roger built a successful career as an electrician, working in many facets of the industry; including healthcare and biomedical services. He was respected for his skill, work ethic, and willingness to help others whenever needed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Richard “Buck” Schaffner, Jr.; stepmother, Mona Schaffner; grandparents, Roger Richard Schaffner, Sr. & Margaret Marie Davis Schaffner; and Michael A.Clancy & Therese Philomena Clancy; aunt GiGi Schaffner; & uncle, Mitch Schaffner.
Above all else, Roger was most proud of his family. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 24 years, Megan Manning Schaffner; his beloved son, Ryan Craig Schaffner – who brought him immeasurable pride and joy; his mother, Susan Mary Clancy; siblings, Tracy Knouse (Doug), Joni Daniel (Dewayne), Katie Schaffner (Jesse), Shawn Schaffner (Kayde) ; nieces, Emily Parker (Kristian) & Mia Daniel; nephew, Andrew TIllis, his in-laws, Marvin & Paulette Manning; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Roger will be remembered for his loyalty to those he loved, his strong spirit, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
A funeral service will take place at 5PM Friday, May 29, 2026 at Mountain View Baptist Church in Sevierville with Dr. John Preston Joslin & Pastor Seth Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends from 3PM to 5PM prior to the service. A committal service with full Military Honors will take place at 12:30PM, Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the youth group of WMU ladies ministry of Mountain View Baptist Church – 1406 Walt Price Road / Sevierville, TN 37876 Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge is honored to serve the Schaffner family.
