Community to celebrate Greenworks with ribbon cutting today

The ribbon cutting for the leading provider of battery-operated outdoor power equipment, Greenworks Commercial was anticipated to begin at 10:30 this morning.

In anticipation for the ceremony R. Jack Fishman, chair of the Industrial Development Board of the City of Morristown said “It is always a pleasure to welcome an expanding new industry to our community. Greenworks, certainly is no exception.”

The new company will be located in the former General Electric building on E Morris Blvd.

“In this particular situation, we are very fortunate to have a fine company replace, a major company that has provided hundreds of jobs for our citizens for the last 50 years in the East Tennessee Valley Industrial District, the first industrial district in our county,” Fishman said.

The $20 million investment will include an 181,000 square foot manufacturing facility, a 20,000 square foot customer experience center located on 30 acres of green space and will create hundreds of new jobs for the area.

Since 2002, Greenworks has been the industry leader in battery innovation, setting the standard for the cordless-powered world.

Its lineup of residential and commercial-grade mowers, blowers, power tools and more have been built from the ground up and have a integrating battery-first design.

Greenworks manufactures over 20,000 batteries made per day on 20 production lines, more than 30,000 motors made per day on 50 production lines and has over 1000 patents and counting.

Greenworks aims to be an innovated and driven brand for people who love gardening and who want greener and cleaner solutions.
