Jefferson County man charged with wife’s murder

A Jefferson County man is facing First Degree Murder charges related to the death of his wife late Wednesday night, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to the Ingram Road home of Kenneth and Jennifer Belcher after a man called in to E-911 to report that he had shot his wife.
While deputies were responding to the call, Jefferson County Central Dispatch indicated that they had GPS coordinates of the caller’s phone. Kenneth Belcher, 52, was located inside a gray pickup in the rear parking lot of Mt. Horeb School on E. Dumplin Valley Road.
Just before midnight, a deputy and officers with the Dandridge Police Department arrived at the school and detained Belcher without incident.
A weapon was located on the passenger seat of the truck.
At the same time a deputy along with officers from the Jefferson City Police Department arrived at the residence on Ingram Road, where they located the body of Jennifer Belcher, 41.
Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division concluded that Kenneth Belcher had shot his wife Jennifer Belcher following a domestic dispute. Belcher was arrested for First Degree Murder and was taken to the Jefferson County Detention Center.
