Patsy Jean Baker (Ridenhour) Veldhouse, of Morristown, TN and formerly of Ullin IL, Kansas City, MO, and Punta Gorda, FL, was born on February 18, 1944, in Ullin, IL and passed away to be with our Lord and others on May 19, 2026, at the age of 82.
Patsy graduated from Ullin High School, Class of 1962. Patsy retired in 2000 after working for the federal government in Kansas City, Mo for 24 years. At the time of retirement, she was the Deputy Comptroller for the 9th Marine Corps District Recruiting Command, KCMO for 11 years and was an active member of the US Marine Corps Military Comptrollers Association.
In Nov 2006, Patsy and her husband David moved to Morristown, TN. She was a life member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #5266 in Morristown. She and David spent some of their retirement years as “snowbirds” and touring in their RV while also visiting their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members and friends in various states. In 2015, they moved to their home in Punta Gorda FL and after David’s death in 2019, she moved back to Morristown, TN. Patsy also enjoyed painting on canvas with acrylic, water and oil paints and reading. Affectionately known as G-MA, her best joy was visiting or hearing about her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Patsy was preceded in death by her loving husband, David R. Veldhouse in 2019, her mother, Rosann (Baker) Lentz Kelley; her sisters, Kathy Lentz and Angela Bryant; one grandchild, Chad Hensley and grandparents, John and Clara Baker. She is survived by her three children: Jeffrey Ridenhour(wife Ruth), Yorktown, VA, Deborah Ridenhour Taylor (husband David), Billings, MO, Sheri Ridenhour Hensley(husband Jeff), Morristown, TN, and her sister, Tonia Capel(husband Kim), Sandia Park NM, 7 grandchildren: Christina Barnum(husband Nick), Jessica Ridenhour, Jacob Taylor(wife Crystal), Joshua Taylor(wife Tyla), Jesse Taylor(wife Alyssa), Emilie McKinney(husband Isaiah), Jordan Hensley(girlfriend Lauren Gipson), 18 greatgrandchildren Zaydan, Leah, Mason, Sophia Grace, Zaylee, Andrew, Finnley, Elsie, Titus, Winnie, Ellie, Kaydence, Sophia Renee(GMAs BFF), Oaklyn, Rhealynn, Remington, Riverlin, and Rhettlee, 2 brothers-in-law John Bryant and Rick Starr, many nieces, nephews and cousins, 2 step sons and 4 Step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on June 27 from 1-3PM with the service immediately following at Crain Funeral Home, Ullin, IL. Burial will be immediately following the service at Ullin Cemetery, Ullin, IL. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to American Cancer Society.
