Johnny Lynn Smith, age 47, of Whitesburg, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at home from lung cancer.

Johnny was born on May 3, 1979. Johnny possessed a rare gift for bringing people together. Whether it was a family dinner or a spur of the moment jam session in the living room. He was always ready with a tuned guitar and a song to sing. His music was the soundtrack to countless family memories, and his voice and effortless strumming could instantly light up a room.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Wayne Smith.

He is survived by his soulmate, Krystal Felver; daughters, Kasey Smith, and Kara Smith; mother, Barbara “Barb” Smith; brother, Michael (Lakiea) Smith; sister, Tina Burton; along with several nieces, nephews, and close cousins; Goddaughter, Jaylynn Stewart.

The family would like to say thank you to the amazing Amedisys team for all their caring and help.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 25, 2026, from 4 – 6 p.m. in the chapel of Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.
