Dr. Kristie Lee Hicks Noble

Dr. Kristie Lee Hicks Noble, a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring pharmacist whose love for family and friends was exceeded only by her love for Jesus, passed away in the early morning of Saturday, May 16, 2026 at her home in Morristown, surrounded by her beloved family.
Noble
She was 56. Born January 13, 1970 in Johnson City, Kristie Lee Hicks lived the first year of her life in Greeneville, before moving with her family to her permanent home in Morristown. She grew up attending First Baptist Church of Morristown, where she gave her life to Jesus at a young age, followed in believer’s baptism, and was an active member of the youth group. She graduated with honors in 1988 from Morristown- West High, following a decorated track career, qualifying all four years for the TSSAA State Track Meet as either a high jumper or hurdler. Her selection as Homecoming Queen her senior year served as evidence of the admiration and respect that her classmates carried for her. Upon graduation, Kristie found her way to Birmingham, Alabama, where she attended Samford University, majoring in Computer and Business, earning a degree in Management Information Systems. While there, she joined the track team as a walk-on, and was soon after awarded a scholarship for her outstanding athleticism. Her hard work and dedication earned her the team’s MVP honor her senior year. Kristie was also the President of Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, and was a sister of Phi Mu. While at Samford, Kristie managed to catch the eye, and then the heart, of Ralph F. Noble, Jr. They graduated in 1992, and were engaged in October of that same year. They married on March 27, 1993. Kristie worked for Ernst and Young and Ralph was a first year math teacher and coach. Shortly into their marriage and careers, Kristie felt the familiar calling of the family business and made the decision to attend pharmacy school. She graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy from Samford’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 1999. Upon her graduation, Kristie and Ralph relocated to her childhood home of Morristown. Kristie worked for the family pharmacy and Ralph eventually found work at her alma mater, Morristown-West. It was there that they built their family. They welcomed their son Nicholas in April 2001, and a short time later, in April 2002, their daughter Rebecca was born. Kristie’s personal, professional, and parenting life was dedicated to following Jesus, and predicated on a commitment to following the teachings of the Bible. Kristie’s faith was paramount in her life, and evident to her friends, family and co-workers. Her commitment to Christ led her and the family back to FBC-Morristown, where she served many years as a worker in the children’s department, a member of the handbell choir, and most recently as a leader on the bereavement team. During her career as a pharmacist, Kristie was always committed to providing her patients the best care possible. In addition to her many years at the family’s Medical Center Pharmacy in New Tazewell, she worked in hospital settings in both Greeneville (Takoma, Greeneville Community) and in Morristown (Covenant Morristown-Hamblen), before wrapping up her career at Amerita Home Infusion in Kingsport. While at MHHS, Kristie was recognized with the MAPLE award, a distinction that recognizes excellence in patient service as recognized by her peers. Her children were the light of her life, and she took to heart God’s command to “Train up a child in the way he should go”. She poured light and love into them daily, even when miles apart. She fought valiantly for them, and shepherded them to see them grow through success and adversity, and taught them to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” so that He would “make your path straight.” In 2018, she returned to West High to coach her kids in her beloved Track and Field, and remained in that role for 5 years. She drew into their silly nicknames for her (Cletus, Home Fry, Meemaw), and was their greatest cheerleader and strongest ally. Her last year enabled her to see Nicholas begin graduate school at ETSU, and Rebecca complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy at her beloved Samford. She was so proud of them. More than anything, Kristie wanted to be a light for Jesus. The walls of her home stayed marked with favorite Bible verses. Her love of gospel music and traditional hymns often found her in front of her piano, where she could withdraw and offer her gifts of praise. Her resolute desire to honor God with her choices was evident to family, friends, and co-workers. Kristie wanted to model holiness and purity as much as she could, and those around her often took note, and were encouraged by her example. She lived out Jesus’ command from Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven”. Kristie was preceded in death by her father, Oscar V Hicks, Jr.; her infant brother, Trevor Joseph Hicks; and her father- in-law, Ralph F. Noble, Sr. She is survived by Ralph, her husband of 33 years; her son, Nicholas Noble; daughter, Rebecca Noble; mother, Sandra Hicks; brother, Derek Hicks (Lynn); uncle, Dr. Rickey Lynn Hicks (Julie); aunt, Linda Hicks Wicker; mother-in-law, Mary Bailey Noble; sisters-in-law, Nancy Noble Bullock (Jerry), Maniece Noble Fisher (Pat), and Mary Noble Willbrandt (John); five first cousins; and 10 nieces and nephews.
