It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, LaVonda McKinney Knight, on July 20, 2026 at the age of 84. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew her. Mom dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and support.

She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Knight; parents, Rev. Lloyd and Norma Carpenter McKinney; infant brother, Donald McKinney; sisters, Phyllis Smith, Glenda Hensley and Patricia Musser; brothers-in-law, Jerry Shults, Jerry Smith, and Doug Hensley; sons-in-law, Kyle Hayes and Coy Brooks.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Brooks and Sharon Cloer (Craig); daughter-in-law, Roberta Knight; grandchildren, Josh Cloer (Dreama), and Brianna Knight; great-grandchildren, Sara Cloer, Gage Cloer, and Grayson Cloer; sister, Joyce (Jodi) Shults; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 24, 2026 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 pm with Rev. James Tullock and Rev. Lane Cochran officiating. Graveside/interment services will be Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Economy Cemetery in Morristown.
