Bernard Franklin Bull

Bernard Franklin Bull was born August 1, 1941, the ninth son to Rufus and Delma Bull. He lived in Etowah, TN until attending Carson-Newman University where he met and married Barbara Brown. He taught at Carson-Newman University from 1972 to 2007. He and Barbara were, from 1973 to 1979, the first residential caretakers of Glenmore Mansion, upon it becoming a museum. After a valiant struggle with cancer, Bernard had his homegoing June 4, 2026.

Service: June 14, 2026, 3:30 PM at First Baptist Church, Morristown with a fellowship of remembering immediately following in the fellowship hall.

Bernard’s family includes Barbara, his wife of 63 years, three children: Bradley (Tina), Benita (Heath) Claiborne and Bethany (Keith) Carpenter, 5 grandchildren: Delyn Marie (Mark) Filer, John-Clarke Bull, and Bray, McKenzie and Chloe Carpenter. He is also survived by his brother, Anthony B Bull (Linda), five sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either: the Carson-Newman University athletic department’s Eagle Club and/or the Lakeway Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes for Bibles in memory of Bernard Bull.
