Melissa Ann Williams, age 68, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Melissa devoted her life to caring for others. She faithfully served as a nurse at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System for 32 ½ years, where she touched countless lives through her compassion, kindness, and dedication. After retirement, she continued serving others by volunteering through New Beginnings Ministry, helping feed the homeless and ministering to those in need. A woman of strong Christian faith, Melissa was an active and devoted member of New Beginnings Ministry. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-nieces, whom she adored deeply. Melissa is survived by her loving sons, Christopher (Kim) Williams and Jeremy (Lydia) Williams; grandchildren Alex Collier, Madicine Williams, and Kadence Williams; bonus grandchildren, Jaxon and Jade Driskill; and her beloved grand pup, Maggie. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna (Duane) Johns, Juanita (Junior) Sexton, and Sandra (Pete) Hayes; special niece, Mariah (Alex) McLain; great-nieces, Gracelyn and JoJo McLain; and her special friend and cousin, Linda Coffey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Zena McDonald; brother, Donnie McDonald; and sister, Kathy McDonald. Melissa will be remembered for her servant’s heart, unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and the deep love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to live on through her family, friends, and all the lives she touched. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 20th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Alex McLain and Rev. Kenny Mattison officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21st at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
