Julie Ann Brown Gibson, age 81, of Mooresburg, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was a loving mother who always supported her children and grandchildren and was their biggest fan. She was a prayerful God fearing woman. She was preceded in death by 1st husband and the father of her children, Carl Brown Jr.; 2nd husband, James “Jay” Gibson; grandchild, Michael Chad Cole; parents, Claude and Maude Purkey; brothers, Lonnie, Kyle, and Bobby; sister, Edith Dalton; nieces, Trish Lumpkins, Misty Dalton, and Kim Dalton; and nephews, Steve Dalton and Gary Koontz. She is survived by her daughters, Priscilla (Paul) Blankenship and Pam (Robbie) Hodge; son, Jimmy (Shonda Corum) Brown all of Bean Station; grandchildren, Joey (Emmley) Cole, April (Wendell) Chittum, Chelsey (Levi) Potter, Toby (Miranda) Brown, and Cody (Sheranna) Hodge; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Glenn) Kootnz, Betty Dalton, and Kathy (Allen) Lawson; also a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, May 11th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Emmerson Lumpkins and Pastor Kathy Lawson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 12th at Meek Cemetery in Bean Station for graveside services.
