Armstrong to serve as Secretary of the state’s Attorneys General Conference Executive Committee
Dan Armstrong, District Attorney General of the 3rd Judicial District is newly elected to serve as Secretary on the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference (TNDAGC) Executive Committee.
Chosen by his fellow District Attorneys General across the state, Gen. Armstrong will play a crucial role in guiding the overall administration of justice in Tennessee.
“I am both honored and humble by the trust placed in me by my colleagues,” said Armstrong. “I will endeavor to serve in a manner that will reflect well on the Conference, the State of Tennessee, and the good people of the Third Judicial District.”
Following his graduation from law school, Gen. Armstrong began his legal career with the Tennessee Department of Human Services, where he served as a legal assistant before being promoted to Assistant General Counsel after passing the Tennessee Bar Exam.
In 1986, he was appointed Assistant District Attorney for the 3rd Judicial District, serving first in the Child Support Division and later in the Criminal Division.
After nearly three decades of service as a prosecutor, Armstrong was elected District Attorney General for the 3rd Judicial District in 2014.
“The Executive Committee is at the heart of every decision we make in our work to improve public safety and provide for a more prompt and efficient administration of justice throughout this great state,” explained TNDAGC Executive Director, Stephen Crump. “As Secretary, I am confident Gen. Armstrong will uphold this responsibility admirably.”
