Missing Cocke County man found in Greene County

A missing Cocke County man who was subject of a Silver Alert was found safe in Greene County Wednesday.

According to a report from the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call on Pond Curve Way in Del Rio regarding missing adult Martin Pellasma, age 71. A deputy had spoken to Marsha Galyon and Pellasma’s wife, Shelia. Both women told deputies that Martin had set out on a motorcycle ride at around 10 a.m., Tuesday. The ride was supposed to have taken a few hours and he was scheduled to with Marsha’s husband, Mark Galyon.

Martin had left before Mark was ready to leave, but Marsha and Shelia had called authorities due to concerns about Martin’s medical conditions regarding his having a heart stent. Deputies started searching the area where Martin was supposed to be, along with area fire units to help provide a light source and manpower. Martin had not been located, nor any means found to get a ping from a cell phone Martin had or from a medical emergency button that Martin had around his neck.

A Silver Alert was issued by the TBI and Martin was located at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday and was being treated for injuries in Greene County.
