FUMC Joyful Hearts announces Tulip Festival trip March 26

The Joyful Hearts Ministry of First United Methodist Church of Morristown have announced a trip to the Second Annual Tulip Festival at Oakes Farm in Corryton on Thursday, March 26.

This festival displays more than one million bright flowers that cover three whole acres.

People are welcome to walk through the colorful fields to snap beautiful photos, or buy a vase of fresh tulips to keep.

If they get hungry while exploring, the Oakes Farm Grill will be open to serve hot meals such as hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken tenders.

Joyful Hearts will leave First United Methodist Church at 9 a.m., and return to the church at 4 p.m.

Registration for the trip will close at 1 p.m. Monday, March 23. The cost of the trip is $20 per person.

Cost of food and drinks at the restaurant is not included in the cost of the trip.

An adult ministry group of First United Methodist Church, Joyful Hearts take trips every other month.

The group travels to concerts and plays.

The stated purpose of Joyful Hearts is “to nurture the lives of adults 50 years and older as they join together in fellowship, and as they reach out to serve the needs of others in the church and in the community at large.”

Each month, Joyful Hearts choose a mission to serve. In March, the group is accepting donations for the FUMC Hospitality Fund.

The church will be replacing all the round, white table cloths to be used at Joyful Hearts meetings as well as other FUMC special events, weddings, and memorial services.
