Action ahead at West High School

M

Welcome back to Trojan Talk! We are shifting our focus to the energy on campus as we wrap up February and head into a massive week of action.

In sports news, the basketball postseason officially tips off as the region tournament takes place from March 1 through March 5 at Sevier County High School. Local teams will compete for a spot in the sectional championships, which are scheduled for March 7–9. Locations for the sectional matchups remain to be determined based on the final results and seeding from the regional play.

In club news, the Executive Council will meet during TNN on March 2, followed by the FCA meeting in the library on March 3. Additionally, Fine Arts Night will be held on March 3 in the auditorium at 5:30 p.m.

On Sunday, March 8, 2026, most of the United States will “spring forward” as Daylight Saving Time begins. This means we will lose an hour of sleep but enjoy an extra hour of evening sunlight.

It’s time to get your act together! Talent Show auditions will take place on March 11 after school in the library. Stop by Ms. Cobb’s room to sign up for a time slot and pick up a copy of the rules. The show will be held during the third block on April 1, and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners.

o School Friday, March 6 for teacher PD.

Freshmen Registration nights are March 5 for Lincoln Middle and March 12 for West View Middle. We’re excited to welcome 8th graders and their families to our campus! After meeting with a teacher to discuss their academic schedule, the Student Council will provide personal tours of the building and the Executive Council will have a Club Fair set up to share about extracurricular opportunities.

With so much happening on campus, from the theater stage to the basketball court, there has never been a better time to get involved and show your school spirit. Let’s make this a week to remember by supporting our students and athletes in everything they do. Go Trojans!
