MPD announces K-9 retirements

The Morristown Police Department (MPD) announces the retirement of two police K-9s. MPD K-9 Odin retired on January 6, 2026, and MPD K-9 Juno retired on January 20, 2026.

K-9 Odin served the Morristown community beginning in 2019. He had three handlers in his career, with his last handler being Officer Josh Cope. Like other MPD K-9s, Odin was trained for narcotic odor detection, off and on leash obedience, area searches, building searches, tracking, officer protection and criminal apprehension.

K-9 Odin had a successful career and participated in various community events, aided in the apprehension of criminals, and assisted numerous officers in narcotic detection.

MPD K-9 Juno served the Morristown community beginning his career in 2015; serving with three handlers retiring while partnered with Lieutenant Brad Rice. K-9 Juno was trained for bomb detection, off and on leash obedience, article searches and tracking.

K-9 Juno had a successful career and was an award-winning Bomb Detection K-9.
