Morristown East racked up its 11th volleyball victory in its last 12 games Monday night by rolling past Northview Academy, 3-0, at Isenburg-Siler Gym

East sandwiched identical 25-19 victories in the first and third sets around a 25-13 rout in the middle.

Northview, now 5-7 for the season, was led by Savannah Bates’ seven kills.

East coach Courtney Dotson said, “I was glad we won 3-0 but we didn’t perform like we should have. We made too many mistakes and too many hitting errors.

“We talk about it every single time that it doesn’t matter who’s on the other side of the net, you still have to show up and play good volleyball,” she said. “When we play high-level teams, we can’t play like we did tonight and expect to win matches.”

Dotson closed, “I thought we hit the ball pretty well at times but didn’t think we were consistent enough. We also had too many service errors again.”

East committed 14 service errors on the night while serving 11 aces.

The Lady Hurricanes improved to 14-4 for the season and were to get back into district play on Tuesday with a trip to Sevier County.
