Dexter Obel “Butch” Ratcliff, Jr., age 75 of Morristown, passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Sunday, August 13, 2023.

He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Morristown; President of Lea-Wayne Knitting Mills, Shelbyville Hosiery Mills, and the Tennessee Hosiery Association. He was also Past-President of the Morristown Rotary Club; a founding member of Ducks Unlimited; and an Eagle Scout. He will be lovingly remembered as a husband and father; but also as “Geepaw” and “Uncle Butch” among many other titles he held through the years.

He is survived by his wife of “a helluva long time”, Jonnie Smith Ratcliff; children, Dexter Wayne (Kim) Ratcliff, Kelley (Keith) Korody, and Robert Harrison (Christy) Ratcliff; grandchildren, Dexter (Hayley) Ratcliff, Taylor (Austin) Kimbrough, McKenna & Mitchell Korody; Reagan, Reese, & Charlie Ratcliff; great-grandchildren, Easton & Carson Kimbrough and Roman Ratcliff; sister, Sandra Kline of Manassas, Virginia; numerous nieces & nephews, extended family members and friends.

Pastor Sam Schaus will officiate the funeral service which will be held at 1:30PM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow thereafter at Jarnagin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, The Boys & Girls Club, or M.A.T.S.
