The “Historic Jonesborough Oldest Town in Tennessee” license plate will be an official Tennessee license plate once a campaign is launched and obtains 1,000 pre-orders. The city needs the community’s support.

The first step is to help decide the final plate.

Please join the “Historic Jonesborough” Specialty License Plate and review the posts for this Facebook Group and provide preferences and comments about the three plates from now until August 31, 2023.

The final plate will be chosen on September 1, 2023, and the Heritage Alliance will begin taking pre-orders.

For each pre-order, the alliance will need name and address on a vehicle registration(s), county of residence, and the $35 specialty license plate fee.

The $35 is the cost of obtaining a specialty license plate in Tennessee above the cost of the standard dark blue plate. The fee also benefits the sponsoring organizations.

You will be able to proudly display the new license plate while helping organizations that promote and preserve the history of Northeast Tennessee.
