James “Luke” Morgan, age 84 of Talbott, passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

He was a longtime member of Blue Springs Baptist Church, where he had attended since childhood.

He loved sports; particularly baseball, basketball, & softball; enjoyed fishing; and was an avid fan of UT Athletics. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Luke retired from a 40+ year career with Magnavox & North American Philips.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette & Grace Morgan; and brother, Junior Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Unavee Morgan; son, Jeff Morgan; granddaughter, Ansley Vanderpool; siblings, Johnny Ray Morgan, Martha Manley, Diane Melton, & Mike Morgan; several nieces, nephews, extended family, & friends.

Pastor Greg Williamson will officiate a funeral service at 7PM Friday, July 21, 2023 at Blue Springs Baptist Church in Grainger County. The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at 11AM Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Hamblen Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Blue Springs Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideons International.
