Roane State President’s List Announced
Roane State Community College has announced its President’s List for the Spring 2023 semester.
To be eligible, a student must attain a 4.0 grade-point average while attempting 12 or more semester hours of college-level courses.

MTSU Honors Student Awarded Lawrence R. Good Scholarship
Psychology and sociology double major Hannah Antrican, of Morristown, TN, was awarded the Lawrence R. Good Scholarship, which is named after the husband of a former faculty member. The $350 award is funded by Dr. Elaine Good Royal and Matthew Royal. Preference is given to psychology majors and minors who are in good standing with the Honors College.
Founded in 1911 as one of three state normal schools for teacher training, Middle Tennessee State University is one of the oldest and largest undergraduate universities in the state of Tennessee. With a fall enrollment averaging more than 21,000 students for the past several years, MTSU remains committed to providing individualized service in an exciting and nurturing atmosphere where student success is the top priority.
Winburn graduates from UT Martin
A Hamblen County resident was among students who received degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin during spring commencement ceremonies held May 6, 2023.
UT Martin hosted two in-person commencements to recognize the accomplishments of the class of spring 2023.
Allison Caitlin Winburn, of Talbott, received a graduate degree.
UT Martin is a comprehensive regional institution in the University of Tennessee System offering 18 bachelor’s degree programs and six master’s degree programs.

Jenna Smith Graduates from the University of Mississippi
Jenna Smith, of Morristown, TN, is among the more than 3,100 students who earned their degrees from the University of Mississippi in May 2023.
Smith, who majored in Biomedical Engineering, received a B.S.B.E. in Biomedical Engineering from the School of Engineering.
“Our May 2023 class of graduates are distinguished by incredible achievements, character and resilience,” said Chancellor Glenn Boyce. “They accomplished so much during their years at Ole Miss, and we can’t wait to see all the ways they will pursue their passions and reach their full potential on their paths to a bright future.”

To qualify for this distinction, an undergraduate student must maintain a current semester grade-point average of 3.5 or above and earn at least 12 semester hours.

Elias Newman of Morristown has been awarded by Emory & Henry College for their outstanding academic achievement.

ETSU Announces Spring 2023 Dean’s List
East Tennessee State University has announced the names of students who attained a grade point average qualifying them for inclusion in the dean’s list for spring 2023.
To receive this honor, undergraduate students must pass a minimum of 12 credits (excluding audits, incompletes, repeats and pass/fail) with no grade below B- in any course taken, and a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students from the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy must successfully complete a minimum of 12 hours and earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 or above with no grade below a B-.
