Multiple events planned for the weekend
The Lakeway Area has several events planned this weekend to entertain the family and also support local organizations.
At Walters State Community College, the Butch Grooms Memorial Cruise-In will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.
The First Fire Truck will be present as well as several antique cars, vendors, a silent auction and much more.
Awards will be given out to the top 15 vehicles, best of show for makes and other special awards.
Proceeds from the event will go to Stepping Out Inc. and its mission by teaching people the skills people need to change their thinking and behavior in three categories of life
On Main Street the Morristown-Hamblen Library will be hosting its annual book sale fundraiser.
The sale is aimed to help aid in costs that come with the many programs the library provides.
The library will be selling various books, magazines, movies, records, CDs, puzzles, games, and audio books for all ages.
The book sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Off Cumberland Street the Morristown-Hamblen Changing times Thrift Store will be hosting a Saturday sale from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Changing Times thrift store has been a part of Central Services for over 50 years, and proceeds from the thrift store are used to aid the operations of the agency so it can provide more client services.
The sale has furniture, books, household appliances, shoes and apparel for people to purchase.
Donations for the thrift store are always accepted and can be made Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In Rutledge, Clinch-Powell will be hosting a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The organization is a nonprofit that is dedicated to building strong communities, caring for people and protecting natural resources.
There will be a “Fill-a-Bag for $5” table with a variety of goods and larger items will be priced individually.
The Historic Rutledge Presbyterian Church will be open for the community to explore and learn about its rich history.
Backwoods BBQ will be at the sale selling its variety of BBQ foods, with a portion of its sales going to the nonprofit.
