Emert Morgan of Rutledge, Tennessee, passed from this life and into eternity on April 21st, 2023. He was born on April 16, 1942, and was age 81 at the time of his passing. Emert was a faithful member and deacon at Oakland Baptist Church and a member of the Gideons International.

He was a respected dairy and beef farmer in the Buffalo community. Emert loved and took pride in his family, church, and farm.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon Morgan; his sons David (Kim) Morgan and Daryl (Karin) Morgan; grandchildren Jamie (Matt) Harrington, Jade (Max) Ewoldt, Emma Kay Morgan, Walt (Madison) Morgan, and Judd Morgan; and soon-to-be great-granddaughter Davie Gray Harrington; sister Barbara Scholten; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Receiving of friends will begin at 5pm and end at 8pm on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 at Oakland Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, April 24th, 2023 at Oakland Baptist Church with Reverend Stacey Lawson officiating. Graveside burial service will follow the funeral service in the Oakland Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Judd Morgan, Walt Morgan, Max Ewoldt, Matt Harrington, Chris Myers, Ron Hayes, Donnie Mogan, and Howard Morgan.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask donations be made to the Oakland Baptist Cemetery Fund or the purchase of Bibles through Gideons International.
