Eight arrested in Claiborne sting

Eight people who had violation their probation and parole were arrested Thursday during a sting operation in Claiborne County.
The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Department of Corrections Office of Investigations and Compliance and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Probation and Parole conducted the operation in Claiborne County.
Officers also arrested one individual wanted from Kentucky and a Claiborne County person wanted on local warrants. During the arrests, officers located and charged some offenders with new charges for drug possession and evading arrest. One person was located and is currently housed in a Virginia jail on unrelated charges.
During the operation, officers located and arrested 10 separate wanted individuals inside and around Claiborne County.
“It is coordinated efforts between various law enforcement agencies that make operations like this successful, and he is proud to have established relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to better serve and protect the citizens of Claiborne County,” Sheriff Bob Brooks said.
The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office expressed its appreciation to the Tennessee Department of Corrections for their crucial role in the operation.
