Shockley in running to open for Judah & the Lion

Morristown native – and West High graduate – Johnathan Shockley needs your vote.
In an effort to support up and coming artists, the alternative rock/folk band Judah & the Lion is holding a series of online polls asking fans to vote for which acts should open for them at different cities in their tour.
Shockley – as he is known on the ballot – is one of six possible acts to open the Knoxville show at The Mill & Mine in the Old City on April 19.
“Knowing what it’s like to be a local band just trying to get a fair shot, we wanted to give that opportunity to the local bands in all the cities on our HAPPY AGAIN TOUR,” the band said on its website. “After an overwhelming number of submissions, we thought the only way to do this right would be to put it up for a vote. We narrowed it down to our top picks but now it’s up to you! Vote for who you want to see. Go support your local bands and/or discover a new one!.”
Shockley says winning the contest would be a perfect way to kick off the launch of his new album on April 28.
“I cannot think of a better way to celebrate my album coming out than opening up for Judah & the Lion at The Mill & Mine,” he said. “Everybody nominated is dope, I got to be honest, I think I want it a little more. It’s the classic musician needs some grassroots help and I could really use yours. So, let’s do it.”
Voting will end at 11:59 p.m. Monday, February 27th.
