Morristown East B gets past West B

In preparation for Friday night’s Morristown East-Morristown West basketball games, both schools B teams took to the court at West on Thursday evening.
Thanks to four scoring double figures, the ‘Canes came out on top against their rivals, 58-44.
East was led in the game by Jaxson Archer with 16 points while Nate Ball finished with 15 points. Others in double figures for East were Nick Dougherty with 12 points and Parker Dale with 10 points. East’s final four points came from Bo Lasiter and Eli Davis with two each.
For West, the Trojans were led by Jayden Howard with 16 points while Will Desgroseillers added 15 points. Other scorers for West were Julian Sexton with seven and Malachi Monroe with four points.
It was a quick start for East in the game as they led 15-10 after one. Ball had five points in the quarter while Archer added four. Howard had eight points for West in the opening quarter.
In the second, East scored 16 more points and held West to six as they led 31-16 at the half. Dougherty had seven points in the quarter while Archer scored four more. Desgroseillers scored four of West’s six points.
The offense got going for West in the third with 18 points as they cut into the lead and made it a 10-point game heading to the final eight minutes at 44-34. Desgroseillers had nine points in the quarter to lead the way with Howard scoring four. Archer had six for East.
In the final quarter, West could only muster 10 points as East pulled away for the 14-point victory. Dale had seven points in the fourth for East.
Morristown East and Morristown West junior varsity and varsity will take to the court at East on Friday. The first of four games begins at 4:15 p.m.
