Jarnigan Ave. fire has $75K in damages

A house fire Tuesday evening at 815 Jarnigan Avenue resulted in an estimated $75,000 in damages.
According to information from the Morristown Fire Department, MFD received the alarm at 5:59 p.m. with four engines and 15 firefighters arriving at 6:04 p.m. Upon arrival of MFD personnel, there was light smoke observed from the downstairs laundry room area.
Firefighters attacked the fire from the laundry room and had the fire under control in four minutes. MFD spent 1.5 hours on the scene.
There were three adults and a child at home at the time of the fire. Due to damages, the family was displaced to the home of another family member. There was an estimated $65,000 in damage to the structure and an estimated $10,000 damage to the home’s contents. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
