Morristown Landing will hold a soft opening on Tuesday, March 21, with the doors opening at 5:30 a.m.
The opening was announced by Mayor Gary Chesney earlier this morning and confirmed by Morristown Landing officials in a press release.
“We are excited to get things rolling,” officials said.
The fitness center, walking track, group fitness classes, personal training, gymnasium and all meeting spaces for members and the community will be available on March 21.
The Aquatics Center, Clip and Climb, and Child Watch will come online around the first week of April, according to the press release.
This weekend, the Landing will host the Battle in the Valley Basketball Tournament, with 50 Teams participating. Players will be girls and boys, 2nd through 9th grade.
“This event is a ‘Training’ event for our staff, and operational systems,” officials said.
“The tournament is a ticketed event so there is an admission fee to get into the gym and watch the tournament. If you want to stop by and say hello, please visit us this weekend. The energy inside the Landing will be fun and exhilarating. Please note we will not be passing out Key Fobs for Members until Tuesday, March 21.
“The Landing Team cannot thank you enough for your patience over the last several months. The Landing is a spectacular venue, and we hope you have enjoyed watching it come to life as much as we have.”
The Landing has hosted several private events over the past month, including a tour for Morristown City Council members and their guests; a city-hosted regional stormwater meeting and the Morristown-Hamblen Hospital Foundation Gala.
