Hundreds of people filled Lowe’s parking lot Saturday, in hopes of getting food from one of the 25 food trucks at the Eat-N-Greet, food truck event.

Eat-N-Greet, hosted by Bill Hall owner of Grill Billy Smoke, was met with great success as many trucks sold out of popular items only an hour in.

Jerry Lee, owner of Panini Hotspot, was shocked at the crowd at the event.

“This is amazing, I have no words,” he said. “I’m just really shocked because we were not expecting this many people to come.”

“We thought people would want our samples we have, but no they’re buying full sandwiches and we could not be happier.”

Lee had sold out of most items an hour into the event, but by 2 p.m. he had to turn customers away because he had sold all of his supplies.

Grill Billy Smoke was also meet with great success as the line was continuously filled with more than 20 people throughout the day.

“I’ve been here for about 40 minutes waiting in line, but his food is just amazing so I don’t mind waiting,” Customer Sharon Carpenter said.

Many customers left very satisfied at their food and are looking forward to future events.

“We love stopping at food trucks in town and supporting small business so attending this event was a must for us,” Bree Runnells said. “The food was amazing and we had a blast seeing so many familiar faces.”

“We are looking forward to coming back to this trucks and we are hoping that more of these kinds of events will come back to Morristown.”

Hall mentioned the possibility of similar events coming to the Lakeway area.

“We have been approached by people who want us to come to their place and host and event like this, so we won’t stop trying to help food trucks meet new customers,” Hall said.

Hall formed the Five Rivers Food Truck Fellowship, a group of food truck owners that will connect trucks all over the Lakeway Area.

“Our goal with the fellowship is to connect trucks in the area and form a community amongst the business owners so we can help each other out,” Hall said. “We plan to invite each other events in the future and also have the fellowship host more greets in the future.”
