NSDAR Honors Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1073

The Samuel Doak Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, as a Vietnam War Commemoration Partner since 2012, presented Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1073, with the new Honorary Partner distinction being given to organizations made up solely of veterans who served on active duty in Vietnam.
With more than 50 Vietnam Veterans of America members present and guests, the meeting was called to order by VVA Chapter 1073 President Jack Weidman, followed by the Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, Roll Call, welcoming of first timers, then the meeting was turned over to the Samuel Doak Chapter, NSDAR.
Samuel Doak Chapter Second Vice Regent Joyce Damon gave the background of the new Honorary Partner of Distinction Certificate and Flag. Weidman was then presented with the Honorary Partner of Distinction Certificate, followed by the new 50th Anniversary Commemorative Flag being accepted by VVA member David Rutherford.
Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins were given to Vietnam Veterans who had not received a pin with an acknowledgement of their service in Vietnam.
Samuel Doak Chapter NSDAR members attending were Treasurer Carol Long, Second Vice Regent/Service for Veterans Chairman Joyce Damon and Veterans Co-Chairman Tracy Wood.
