Carolyn (Jaynes) Smith, age 96 of Morristown, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, July 24, 2023.

She was a member of the Ladies Reading Circle and an active member of First Baptist Church in Morristown for many years.

Carolyn was known to many as a gracious lady who loved the Lord, her family, and community.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Jensen; brother, Alvin Jensen; husband, Dr. Dean Jaynes; daughter, Sherry Jaynes; and late husband, Gene Smith.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Mark (Carol) Jaynes; granddaughter, Lydia Jaynes; grandson, Alex (Taylor) Jaynes; grandson, Adam (Megan) Jaynes; great-granddaughter, Harper Jaynes; and expected great-granddaughter, Eleanor Jaynes.

The family would like to thank Dewitt Place, Life Care Center, and Gentiva Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care.

A family service will be held at a later date.
