Virgie J. Burgin (Coffey), age 93 of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

She was a member of Northside Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold & Mattie Brabson; husband and father of her two daughters, Kenneth E. Coffey; husband, Howard Burgin; sisters, Monnie Carter & Beulah Hickey; brother, William Brabson; and sons-in-law, Jimmy Wampler & Coy Sexton.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Wampler & Sandra Sexton; grandchildren, Scottie Wampler, Angela Williams, Harold (Cheri) Kelley, & Greg (Melinda) Wampler; great-grandchildren, Schae (Anthony) Wood, John T. Williams, Logan Kelley, Bryson Kelley, Ethan Kelley, Christopher Wampler, & Darian Wampler; and great-great-grandchildren, Maddox & Meilah Wood, Ryleigh Smith, & Noah Wampler.

Reverend Lonnie Dalton will officiate the funeral service, which will be held at 7PM, Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Mayes Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at 10AM Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Hamblen Memory Gardens.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and nurses of the Heritage Center & Gentiva Hospice for the all the special care and love they gave to our mother/grandmother. They treated her as they would have their own mothers.
