Michael “Mike” Lynn Atkins, age 51, of Bean Station went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center after a short battle with cancer.

Mike liked to fish and hunt. He knew Jesus and knew where his new home was gonna be.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents: Slim and Christine Atkins and his grandparents; Floyd and Nellie Atkins.

He leaves behind a loving daughter; Myla Faith Atkins, brother; Gene Atkins (Dorothy Caudill), sister; Charlotte Greer (Jeremy Roach) and girlfriend Angela Davis who helped take care of him through his illness.

He also leaves behind his best friend, “Champ”, nephews; Christian, Chase and Trevor Atkins and niece; Courtney Greer.

Family will receive friends on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 5pm – 7pm with funeral to follow at 7pm. Burial 12 noon, Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Atkins Cemetery in Bean Station.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Roach, Dwayne “Brub” Humbard, Orlando Burnside, Joe Starnes, Rodney Caudill and Rodney Webb. Honorable pallbearers will be Christian, Chase and Trevor Atkins.

The family request instead of flowers that donations be made to help with funeral expenses to Smith-Reagan Funeral Home.
