HCSO Deputy awarded scholarship from TEA

F

Deputy Christian Taylor who serves the community with the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office received a $1,500 scholarship from the Tennessee Elks Association this week.

Across the state of Tennessee only 15 people were selected to receive the scholarship. The application for the state-funded scholarship was provided to Taylor and others interested through the Morristown Elks Lodge #1667.

Members of the Morristown lodge were present in the presentation of the check and congratulatory letter awarded to Taylor.

The scholarship will go toward tuition which Taylor inquired while attending class at the WSCC Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy. Since the completion of the academy, Taylor has gained employment and is now a member of the HCSO’s recently formed School Resource Officer Unit.
