UETHDA announces Energy Assistance Outreach for March

The Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency is announcing its Energy Assistance Outreach Van schedule for March throughout the Lakeway Area.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is a federally funded program that helps low-income households with their home energy bills.

Applications can now be accepted online at thda.org/liheap. All applicants MUST HAVE an email address to apply. A complete list of required documents can be found at https://uethda.org/energy-2.

The LIHEAP assistance amount will range from $174 to $750 depending on household energy burden.

LIHEAP assists low-income households, primarily those who pay a high proportion of household income on home energy, in meeting their immediate energy needs.

LIHEAP provides direct payments to utility companies on behalf of approved applicants.

Applicants are urged to continue paying their bills during the processing period as to avoid additional penalties/fees. Applicants must meet income eligibility. Income eligible households are those at or below 60% of the State Median Income. For a single person household, this would be less than $2,671 a month.

UETHDA’s LIHEAP Outreach RV will be available throughout the Lakeway Area helping those needing assistance. Appearances by the outreach vehicle follows the county school system’s inclement weather schedule. The RV will appear on the following dates and locations:
