Harold Lane “Bawbaw” Helton, age 76, of Morristown, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Woodlands Post Acute Facility in Clinton. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Born and raised in Morristown, Harold was a simple man that loved sitting on the couch watching the classics on television. He loved loafing, his cows, shooting pool with his friends, whistling and aggravating and teasing people. He also enjoyed checking his junk mail each day and reading the paper. Harold was a loving and devoted father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Eugene and Nancy Marie Helton; brother, Ronnie Helton; and sisters, Wanda Helton Greene and Barbara Helton Teague. He is survived by his sons, Brandon (Nikki) Snyder and Shannon Helton; daughter, Amber (Jason) Whitehead; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Myron “Tommy” Helton; sister, Myrna Helton (Tinker) Cox; several nieces and nephews; and his cat, “Meow Meow.” The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 15th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16th at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
