The Rockies scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning to power them to a 6-2 Morristown Parks and Rec City Championship win over the Diamonds at King Park.

The Rockies closed the 2026 season perfect with a 12-0 worksheet, while the Diamonds finished 8-4.
Cassie Carver started on the mound for the champs and struck out nine batters in three innings, allowing one hit. However, the Diamonds struck first in the top of the first inning.

Leighton Fanney drew a leadoff walk and Keylee Linkous singled. Fanney stole third and eventually scored on an error.

The lead was short-lived for the Diamonds. EC Stewart, who dominated the league’s home run derby, led off the Rockies with a single and was followed by another from Carver in the two-hole. Paisley Jenkins loaded the bases with a walk, and Addie Bower tied at 1-1 with an RBI walk. London Dailey then singled in another run, then Jenkins and Bauer both stole home to make it 4-1 for the Rockies despite three Ks from Haven Linkous.

Carver then struck out the side for the Rockies in the top of the second, but Haven Linkous followed suit for the Diamonds by doing the same in the bottom of the frame.

Carver struck out three more batters in the top of the third, and Stewart walked to open the bottom. Carver then singled and Bauer sent them both home with a two-RBI triple that made it 6-1 Rockies.

With Stewart now on the mound, Haven Linkous walked in the top of the fourth and Keylee Linkous got her second hit of the day, but the Diamonds couldn’t bring in any runs. Liberty Dyer singled for the Rockies in the bottom of the frame, but that was all they could get.

Kendall Wallen led off the fifth with a walk before Stewart struck out the rest of the side, and Haven Linkous matched in the bottom of the frame to send it to the sixth.

With one last chance to close the gap, two Diamonds struck out, but Fanney reached on an error and later scored on a different error to make it 6-2. However, Stewart forced a groundout to secure the championship for the Rockies.

Haven Linkous struck out 12 for the Diamonds, and Stewart struckout seven to make it 16 total Ks for the Rockies.

Carver led the champs with a 2-for-2 evening while Stewart, Bauer, Dailey and Dyer each had hits. Dyer led the Rockies with three RBIs. Keylee Linkous had both of the hits for the runners-up.
