Greeneville 10U All-Stars down South Jefferson

Greeneville scored in every inning Tuesday night in rolling to an 11-1 win over South Jefferson to open the District Four Boys 9-10 Little League Tournament at McAmis-Sempkowski Field.
Morristown was to see its first action on Wednesday night by taking on Greeneville. The loser of that game played South Jefferson in an elimination game later.
Greeneville scored one run in both the first and second innings before breaking the game open with a six-run third. The winners added one in the fourth and two in the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.
Morgan Anderson collected three hits to lead the winners while Kase Landers added two and winning pitcher Boone Percel chipped in a double.
Grayson Brooks had the only hit for South Jefferson.
Hank Johnson scored the only run for the losers when he reached on an error in the top of the fifth inning and wound up scoring on a wild pitch.
Lennon Willis was the losing hurler.
An infield hit by Landry Hodge and two errors gave Greeneville its first run. The second-inning marker came when Nate Metcalf walked and scored on a hit by Avrum Cook.
The winners took advantage of four walks and three hits in their big inning. Anderson singled in two runs and Percel had a long double in the uprising.
The tournament champion advances to the state tournament in Clarksville beginning on July 3.
