Neyland Entertainment District to break ground this summer, completion expected in 2028

The University of Tennessee is expected to break ground on its Neyland Entertainment District after the Tennessee Building Commission approved its construction.

The project will cost $280 million, with $215 million going towards a condo-hotel and $65 million going towards the entertainment district.

Beginning with the two-thirds demolition of G-10 parking garage, the project is expected to be completed in 2028. Upon completion, the Neyland Entertainment Center will sit on top of a new G-10 garage, which is expected to be open in 2027. The condo-hotel is scheduled for completion in 2029.

UT is partnering with 865 Neyland development team and entering a 99-year lease with an option to purchase the entertainment district after 40 years and the condo-hotel after 50 years, according to Knox News.

Neyland Entertainment District will feature restaurants, bars, shops and event space. The condo-hotel will hold 180 hotel rooms, 30 hotel-condo units, 50 luxury condo units and a rooftop bar.

After completion, G-10 will hold over 200 more spaces along with a separate garage for the condohotel.

UT will finalize a plan for parking at a later date after the demolition of G-10.
