This week marks the final day for Seniors and the last full week for underclassmen. All students, seniors especially, have been surged with excitement for the end of the school year.
Congratulations to Elyse Cox for our 2026 Bravo Awards winner! She was awarded a $500 scholarship for her excellence in Visual Arts. Senior Caden Eldridge placed second and earned a $250 scholarship. It’s great seeing such great artists represent East High and the Arts Department!
Mrs. Arnold sent out an email for Juniors regarding next year’s Cane Crew. Voting will take place next week!
The Student Council has been selling decal tattoos for students to put on teachers! During lunch in the cafeteria the Student Council will sell tattoos for participating teachers to wear, this week. The teachers loved getting to sport those tattoos.

Laptop Decommissioning is at the end of
the week, so make sure to back up all your files, certificates, or paperwork that you could need on your personal computer. Seniors, be aware that you only keep your laptop if all of your fees are paid and your $50 has been paid all four consecutive years. Mrs. Holder, East High’s Help Desk admin, has sent out an email to everyone regarding the steps and what will happen after decommissioning.
Yearbooks for 2026 were passed out May 15 and signing took place during 4th period in the football stadium. Thank you to the Yearbook Staff for creating an amazing yearbook this year. Your hard work did not go unnoticed.
Senior Walk is Monday, May 18, and Mr. Bowlin has instructed seniors to only bring graduation gowns, not caps. Graduation Practice is Thursday, May 21 at 11 a.m., though it is recommended to not be late. Graduation practice will be treated just like Graduation, so be respectful. Graduation will be on the following day, Friday, May 22 at 8 p.m.
If you’ve turned in your Midnight Madness form, make sure to get there before 12 a.m.
This is the last Hurricane Watch you’ll see from me, as I, the writer, am graduating. Thank you to everyone for reading my articles, and thank you Citizen Tribune for appointing me this opportunity to write for the Morristown paper. I’ve had a fantastic four years at East High, and I’ll always remember ‘It’s a Great Day to be a Hurricane!’
