TCAT Morristown welcomes instructor Ronnie White

Tennessee College of Applied Technology Morristown is expanding its training opportunities with the addition of a new Robotics– Industrial Automation program that is designed to prepare students for careers in one of the region’s fastest-growing sectors.

Scheduled to begin in September, the program will provide comprehensive, hands-on training in the advanced technologies that drive modern manufacturing and industrial operations.

Students will develop technical skills in motor controls, electrical fundamentals, fluid power, mechanical systems, industrial automation, and robotics operation and maintenance.

Through a blend of classroom instruction and real-world lab experiences, students will learn to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize automated systems and smart technologies that are increasingly essential across manufacturing, distribution, and industrial facilities.

Leading the program is Ronnie White, an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in industrial maintenance, automation, and advanced manufacturing.

White’s extensive background will provide students with practical knowledge and firsthand insight into the technologies and processes used in today’s workforce.

The Robotics–Industrial Automation program can be completed in 16 months and is designed to prepare graduates for entrylevel positions as robotics and industrial automation technicians.

Career opportunities are expected to remain strong as employers continue to invest in automation technologies to enhance productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness.

Chris Edmonds, TCAT Morristown’s Industry, CTE, and Grants Coordinator, indicated, “The demand for skilled technicians who can work with automated systems and robotics continues to grow throughout our region and across the state. This program will provide students with the technical training and hands-on experience needed to succeed in these high-demand careers while supporting the workforce needs of local industry.”

“The addition of the Robotics– Industrial Automation program, reinforces TCAT Morristown’s ongoing commitment to workforce development and its mission of providing high-quality technical education that aligns with current and emerging industry needs,” TCAT Morristown President Suzanne Cox said.
