Between the Lakes Blues Festival Returns to Rose Center for the Arts

The Third Annual Between the Lakes Blues Festival is happening Saturday, May 30, at Rose Center in Morristown, from noon – 6 p.m., with an afterparty beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The party will start in the back yard at Rose Center with live Blues music, craft beer, handmade crafts, children’s activities and more from noon until 6 p.m.
“We’ve got an amazing lineup this year, and we’re so excited to offer an after party as well,” said organizer Beccy Hamm. “Our partnership with the Smoky Mountain Blues Society has made this possible.”
Knoxville band Blue Monday opens at noon with old school electric blues. At 1:30 p.m., Few Miles On takes the stage with their “Southern Blues Groove.” Based in Middle Tennessee, their members come from Chicago, Detroit, Pennsylvania and Nashville, giving the group a unique sound.
National touring band Piper & the Hard Times brings high energy Blues beginning at 3 p.m. This band is a 2024 International Blues Challenge winner and won the 2025 Blues Music Award for Best Emerging Artist Album.
Headliner Wayne Baker Brooks and his trio from Chicago start at 4:30 p.m. Brooks has been inducted into the Blues Players Hall of Fame, and won many other awards including Chicago Music Awards Best Blues Entertainer. He has played with Blues greats Buddy Guy, Bo Taylor, the Black Crows, Taj Mahal, Elvin Bishop, and of course his father, Blues legend Lonnie Brooks. Wayne is the co-founder of Between the Lakes Blues Festival.
1907 Brewing Company will be on site pouring a selection of craft brews. Food vendors are Smoke Ring BBQ, Tennessee Tater and the Blushing Lemon. There will be a bouncy house courtesy of Spacewalk of Morristown. A wide variety of local handmade items may be purchased from artisans set up on the grounds.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. No outside food or drink will be allowed.
New this year, the After Party will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Perk Prater Hall.
East Tennessee favorite Billy Crawford and the Lowdown will be the house band for the evening. After their first set, members of the other festival bands will join in for an exciting jam session. The after party is sponsored by GFL Environmental.
Tickets are $15 for the festival, $10 for the After Party $10, and a combo ticket can be purchased for $20 (purchased in advance only.) Children 12 and under are free, thanks to a sponsorship from Visions by Vicki.
