This FREE family event is their way of saying thank you for keeping 105.7 WCRK FM and Country Legends 93.3 FM the most listened-to local radio stations in the Lakeway Area.

Attendees can enjoy a full day of live music at the Strawberry Festival beginning at 10 a.m. with the Bethel Assembly Church of God Choir, followed by The Stonewalls at 11:30 a.m., Thristatine at 1:30 p.m., and Lawless closing the day at 3 p.m.

The fun Strawberry Festival pie eating contest is back this year from 1 to 1:30 p.m.

Families can enjoy face painting, a petting zoo, giant inflatables, Elmo the Train, Bubble Ball, arts and crafts activities, and more throughout the day.

WCRK/Country Legends Festival Coordinator Sally Roberts said one of her favorite parts of organizing the Strawberry Festival is seeing artists, craftspeople, homesteaders, makers, and community leaders all come together in one place.

“The creativity in our region is truly something special,” Roberts said. “This year especially, I’m thrilled by how many vendors have embraced the strawberry theme with their crafts and foods. It really shows how much heart our community puts into making this festival something families look forward to every year.”

Those attending the Strawberry Festival will find a wonderful selection of more than 70 unique local crafters and makers, including 3D printed toys, all varieties of baked goods, candles, canned items (including jams, salsa, pickles, garlic, jalapenos), crochet plushies, desserts, dip mixes and soup mixes, dirty sodas, embroidery, epoxy art, fiber arts, a first fire truck display, a fresh flower cart, freshies, fused glass, goat milk products, handmade ceramics, handmade knives, honey, horseshoe art, Kawaii stationery, laser-engraved jewelry, loaded teas, metal, glass and 3D-printed fishing and hunting equipment, mixed media artwork, permanent jewelry and charm bars, pinecone art, stained glass, stainless steel jewelry, sourdough, sublimation items, T-shirt press designs, trucker hats, Tupperware, vinyl records, handcrafted wood items, and youth crafts. There will truly be something for everyone to enjoy while supporting local makers and community organizations. Stop by several booths to win prizes.

New this year, WCRK/Country Legends will welcome “Davy Crockett” as portrayed by Isaac White. Crockett will be sharing stories about life on the frontier and what it was like during his time. In addition, the Davy Crockett Tavern will be on site showcasing artifacts from the period, giving visitors a unique opportunity to connect with local history in an engaging, hands-on way.

WCRK/Country Legends Strawberry Festival guests can also enjoy a true taste of the Lakeway area from local food vendors serving everything from freeze-dried treats, shaved ice, chimney cakes, kettle corn, macarons, bundt-style sweets, Sabrett hot dogs, sliders, gyros, kabobs, funnel cakes, mini donuts, charcuterie boxes, acai bowls, soup beans and cornbread, spiral taters, fried bologna, baked potatoes, lemonade, soft-serve ice cream, cotton candy, fresh breads, jams, salsa, and more.

Station General Manger Ed Arnold says, “We never charge visitors to attend our Strawberry Festival. This is our way of saying thanks for their loyal listenership, continuing to make us the most listened to radio stations year after year.”

WCRK/Country Legends’ 20th Annual Strawberry Festival would not be possible without the generous support of community sponsors.

“We’d like to extend a special thank you to our major partners Morristown Tree Service; Food City; Appalachian Animal Hospital; Granite of the Smokies; Johnson & Son Contracting & Concrete; The Backroad Belle, and the Citizen Tribune,” Arnold said.

Convenient on-site parking is available, and a shuttle service provided by Lakeway Transit/ETHRA will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Rural King and Manley Elementary School parking lots to the festival grounds. Your generous donations for parking will benefit the South, East, and West Volunteer Fire Departments of Hamblen County.

Bring the whole family and celebrate with 105.7 WCRK FM and Country Legends 93.3 FM on Saturday, May 16 from 10 to 4 at 510 West Economy Road across from Manley Elementary School. We’ll see you there.
