Mark your calendars and start cleaning out your medicine cabinets because the National Drug Take Back Day is coming up this weekend.

The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with the Hamblen County Substance Abuse Coalition to host the Take Back Day this Saturday, April 25. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of College Square Mall between McDonald’s and Olive Garden.

Deputies will be on hand to collect expired and/or unused medications. Liquids, sharps or vapes cannot be accepted.

For those unable to attend the event and have medication that needs to be destroyed, a secure drop-off container is located inside the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office, located at 460 North Jackson Street in Morristown.

It is accessible from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
