The 2026 “Kiwanis Kapers: Morristown…LIVE” is coming up for its 75th Anniversary and it’s going back to its theatrical roots.

This year’s show will be held on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2 at the Inman Theater at Walters State Community College. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with performances beginning at 7 p.m.

During the first “Kiwanis Kapers” performance, Kiwanis members, friends, and neighbors got on stage to sing, dance, and perform sketches in front of the community. There will be two nights of music, laughs and the kind of fun Morristown does best. No moment too silly, nor no act too wild.

“We went back to the variety show format to involve the community more,” Kiwanis President Matthew Ulrich said. “This format allows us to use local students and companies to keep everything in house. It’s good to highlight the kids and the community itself.”

Ulrich said that he thought it is appropriate that the Kiwanis Kapers is coming back to the comedy and stage productions for the 75th Anniversary show.

“Interest in general has been positive,” Ulrich said. “We’re happy to see the variety show form coming back. We’re grateful for that.”

For two nights, the Kiwanis Club of Morristown and Encore Theater Company are bringing back something we’ve all been missing: a live variety show entertainment the whole family can share in the same room.

Since 1951, the Kiwanis Club’s Kiwanis Kapers has been putting Morristown on stage, raising money for children’s organizations the entire time.

Tickets are $25 with purchases benefiting children’s organizations that serve Hamblen County. Ticket sales are sponsored by the Downtown Morristown First Friday Concert Series.

The Morristown Kiwanis Club is part of the global organization of volunteers dedicated to impacting the youth of the community. One of the oldest civic organizations in the Lakeway Area, Kiwanis meets at noon Fridays at The Country Club.
