Joyful Hearts announce another Bible Museum trip
The Joyful Hearts Ministry of First United Methodist Church of Morristown have announced a trip to the Tennessee Bible Museum in Pigeon Forge.
Originally scheduled in January, but postponed due to winter weather, the new trip is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21.
The Bible Museum is a unique attraction that displays a large collection of rare and historic Bibles to show how the book has changed over hundreds of years. Visitors can see incredible items like a Bible that stopped a bullet to save a soldier’s life, and a massive Bible that weighs 120 pounds.
Joyful Hearts will leave First United Methodist Church at 9 a.m., and return to the church at 2 p.m. on April 21. Registration for the trip will close at noon on Monday, April 20. Cost of the trip is $22 per person. To register, visit www.fumcmorristown.org.
After the Bible Museum, Joyful Hearts will eat lunch at the Sunliner Diner, a classic 1950s-style restaurant where guests can eat traditional American comfort food inside booths made from vintage cars while listening to old-fashioned jukebox music. The cost of food and drinks at the restaurant is not included in the cost of the trip.
An adult ministry group of First United Methodist Church, Joyful Hearts take trips every other month. The group travels to concerts and plays. The stated purpose of Joyful Hearts is “to nurture the lives of adults 50 years and older as they join together in fellowship, and as they reach out to serve the needs of others in the church and in the community at large.”
Each month, Joyful Hearts choose a mission to serve. In April, the group is accepting donations for Rise Against Hunger, which works in countries worldwide to fight hunger, targeting communities facing high rates of food insecurity. First United Methodist Church and Joyful Hearts will package meals for global hunger relief at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at the Cumberland Place building.
First United Methodist Church is located at 101 East First North Street in Morristown. For more information or to ask about Joyful Hearts, call 423-581-2180.
