Candidate event set for Tuesday at Landing

The Citizen Tribune and the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting a candidate meet and greet Tuesday, April 7 at Morristown Landing.

The event will give all candidates running in the May 5 primary election an opportunity to meet members of the public, discuss issues and their vision for the county.

The free event is open to the public and will last from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“We are excited for this opportunity for candidates to meet the public and for the public to come out and meet the candidates,” said R. Michael Fishman, president of Lakeway Publishers Inc., the parent company of the Citizen Tribune. “There is no greater responsibility in our democracy than accepting a role of leadership whether that’s at a city, county or state level and beyond. It is our responsibility not only to vote, but to be well-informed and active voters.

“This is an opportunity for the public to come out and speak with the people who will be helping to lead the county over the next four years. We appreciated the Chamber of Commerce’s partnership as well as that of Morristown Landing.

“We hope to see you there Tuesday night.”
