Nolichucky River Cleanup in Greene a success

Keep Greene Beautiful announced that 30 volunteers came out to their Nolichucky River cleanup on Saturday.

Volunteers removed 2,020 lbs. in tires. By the numbers, 34 regular tires at 35 lbs. each were recovered; six regular tires were recovered with a rim at 55 lbs. each and five semi-truck tires at 100 lbs. each were also recovered

In addition, volunteers collected 840 pounds of debris on one trailer.

Special thanks go out to Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful, the Nolichucky Restoration Project, and the David Crockett Birthplace State Park for having multiple volunteers at the event.

Greeneville Mayor Alan Corley, Jeffy Griffin, and Bill Gaut were the primary organizers for this pickup.
